CPKC Holiday Train Experience in Hamilton: A Blend of Joy, Generosity, and Community
This year, we had the delightful experience of witnessing the enchanting Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train in Hamilton. A long-awaited tradition for us, the Holiday Train’s arrival marked a special moment in our holiday calendar.
The train, stretching a spectacular 1,000 feet and adorned with hundreds of thousands of LED lights, was a feast for the eyes. Adding to the joyous atmosphere, a converted boxcar turned into a traveling stage brought live performances that captivated everyone present.
More than just a celebration, this event is a powerful initiative supporting local food banks. It was heartening to see the community come together, donating generously to aid those in need during the festive season. This blend of joy and generosity truly defines the spirit of the Holiday Train.
Reflecting on our visit, there was just one downside: our decision to leave our two dogs at home. They would have loved the vibrant environment and the community spirit. This experience has inspired us to make the Holiday Train visit an annual tradition, especially meaningful with our first child arriving this December.
As we encourage everyone to experience the Holiday Train, we remember it’s not just about the lights and music; it’s about bringing people together for a common good. For those who haven’t yet had the chance, it’s a must-add to your holiday traditions, a beautiful blend of holiday cheer, community spirit, and meaningful cause.
Wishing everyone a season filled with joy, generosity, and community spirit!
First Exposure: Empowering Parenthood with Evidence, Community, and a Touch of Tech Magic!
Do you remember couple weeks ago I bragged about my Hollywood debut for a project I was working on? Here we are, last Thursday, Damian and I were on route for Toronto, where we were invited to the launch of First Exposure: a groundbreaking evidence-based digital information hub and network based at the University of Toronto. What makes this initiative particularly close to my heart is not just my current pregnant-self, but also my past involvement in the project during my time at Health Nexus and my current role as Board member. Little did I know that I would, also, be part of the launch movie!
My journey with this project began while I was working for Health Nexus, where I witnessed the dedication and vision that fueled the establishment of this invaluable resource. The support and foresight of the Vohra Miller Foundation laid the foundation for a program that now stands as Canada’s trusted bilingual source for reproductive and lactation health information. And I am humbled by the incredible strides First Exposure has taken. The commitment to providing information that is not only evidence-based but also co-designed with communities is truly exceptionnal.
This particular approach ensures that the content is not only accurate but also culturally sensitive, respecting the diverse contexts within which individuals make decisions about their and their baby’s health.

Woof, Woof! 🐾
Hey frenchie fam! It’s your favorite dynamic duo, Boujee and Dapper, reporting live from our cozy little corner of the world. We hope this blog post finds you all wagging your tails and living your best doggy lives.
So, let us spill the tea on this week. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, darlings. You see, our dad’s family bid au revoir and headed back to the Big Apple. We have to admit, it left a little paw-shaped hole in our hearts. But you know what they say – when one paw closes, another one opens!
And guess what, furriends? This week was extra special because it was none other than Dapper’s birthday on Friday! Can you believe our little guy is growing up so fast and is three already?!
Dad took Dapper on a grand adventure to Grand Dad’s Donuts (we see what they did there). They came back with not one, but TWO delicious donuts. Talk about the royal treatment! The house was transformed into a birthday wonderland with balloons galore, and Kat, our amazing human, helped Dapper get into his birthday best. We’re talking bowties and party hats – he was one dapper dude!
Auntie Sheryl and Noelle joined the paw-ty to serenade Dapper with the classic “Happy Birthday” tune. It was a doggone good time, and we have to confess, Boujee was almost as excited as if it were her own birthday. Almost.
Now, let’s talk serious business. Our humans have been buzzing around, and we’ve noticed the familiar scent of baby preparations in the air. Kat is 37 weeks pregnant, and our little hooman could make their grand entrance into the world any day now! We’ve prepared our very own hospital bag, complete with our favorite toys and treats. Gotta be ready for anything, right?
The weather outside may be getting colder, but our hearts are warmer than ever. Life is good in our little French bulldog paradise. We’re snug as a bug in a rug, surrounded by love, laughter, and the occasional squeaky toy.
As we wrap up this week’s pup-date, we just want to bark it out loud – life is pawsitively amazing! Stay tuned for more adventures from Boujee and Dapper. Until next time, keep those tails wagging and those noses sniffing.
Woofs and wiggles, Boujee and Dapper ❤️
