Villlhelllm: How do You even Spell It?
Life Update: We Went Camping!
Greetings Villlhelllm community!
I hope you’re enjoying the summer from where ever you are in the world. As for us, we recently went on a camping trip with our furry friends, Boujee and Dapper. Let me tell you, it was quite an adventure!
Kat had never camped in Canada before, so I was excited to share my love of the great outdoors with her. It had been a few years since I dusted off my trusty rooftop tent, so I was ready to hit the road. However, there was one problem— I had never taken our dogs camping before.
Our plan was to leave Boujee (our French bulldog) with a babysitter since she doesn’t do well with the heat and hates car rides. We figured Dapper would do better, but boy were we wrong. Finding a camp spot in Ontario these days is near impossible, but with a little luck, we managed to snag a couple of days at Long Point Provincial Park.
While packing up the car, I couldn’t help but think how sad Boujee would be that she wasn’t able to come. But then I remembered Katerina’s father’s wise words: “A family takes care of the weakest one.” So, I decided to take everyone camping. I reached for some fan options, bought a beach umbrella, got Boujee a small dog tent, and packed a large sunshade for the campsite. If things got too hot for the dogs, we would keep them in the car with the AC as a contingency.
When we arrived at Long Point Provincial Park, Boujee was a little hot, but we gave her some time. To my surprise, she found shade in the dog tent that had my 650 CFM Dewalt fan. Within 20 minutes, she was exploring the campsite like a champ. And to be honest, she handled the heat and the lake better than Dapper!
So there you have it, folks. Even the weakest member of the family can surprise you. And with a little trust, the one that seems to be the weakest can be the one that protects you from bears, chimp mucks, and random people walking around at night. Thank you, Karel, for your words of wisdom. Without them, we would have missed out on some unforgettable memories with the dogs.
Until next time, remember to take care of each other, keep exploring and enjoying what life has to offer.

Greece! I mean…Welland!
This year vacationing is looking a bit different. The house, the move, studená…you name it! So we decided to take a couple day trips. First the idea was to stop in on a couple of Ontario best cities named after European ones. Well, that being said…it was a good idea, but with all the things we had on our plate this week, we did not get there.
Nevertheless, we took a trip to Niagara Falls and on our way back, because I was hungry (or was that a pregnancy craving?!) we stopped in Welland at a Greek restaurant. George’s Greek Village, in St. Catharines had everything for a vacation feel: the food, the water, the views!

A Canadian not so Canadian, yet!
As I have shared with you couple weeks ago, I recently passed my Canadian citizenship exam and was invited to the oath ceremony. It’s an honor and a milestone in my life. However, as luck would have it, a quirky twist of fate intervened, reminding us that technology isn’t always as reliable as we’d hope.
The citizenship tracker stated that the ceremony was scheduled for July 5th, and my excitement was palpable. But alas, my dreams of becoming an official Canadian citizen were momentarily put on hold…
Picture this: me eagerly refreshing my inbox, waiting for that all-important email containing my invitation. Minutes turned into hours, hours turned into days, and yet no invitation materialized. I reached out to the ministry, and am still awaiting a reply.
Who would have thought that something as simple as an email could pull a disappearing act? It seems that even in the digital age, technology still has its quirks and surprises. I’m embracing this brief delay with a smile, confident that a new invitation will soon make its way to my inbox.
In the grand scheme of things, this hiccup will become a humorous anecdote, shared among friends and family in years to come.
So, dear Vilhelmians, let’s revel in the unpredictability of life and its little surprises. Technology may falter at times, but our spirit remains unwavering. In the end, it’s the journey and the stories we gather along the way that truly matter.
Until the new invitation arrives, I’ll be here, patiently waiting. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that this time, technology decides to cooperate!
Woof Woof! 🐾
Woof, woof! Boujee and Dapper here! It’s been an absolutely pawsome time this week, filled with quality moments, thrilling experiences, and an abundance of love from our humans.
This week has been extra special because our humans were off for the entire week! Can you imagine the joy that filled our giggly butts when we realized we would have uninterrupted time with them? Oh, it’s been a true doggy dream come true!
We kicked off the week in style with Canada Day fireworks at the marina here in Hamilton. The sky lit up with colorful bursts of light, and although Dapper was a tad bit scared, Boujee couldn’t care less. With his nonchalant demeanor, Boujee sat there, barely raising an eyebrow, as if to say, “Fireworks? Meh, no biggie.” Oh, how different we can be sometimes!
But the real highlight of our week was the camping trip we embarked on. It was a whole new world for us, filled with fresh scents, sprawling green landscapes, and endless opportunities for tail-wagging adventures. The heat was a little overwhelming at first, but we quickly discovered the soothing embrace of the nearby lake. Ah, the refreshing feeling of the cool water on our paws was simply pawtastic!
Our humans were well-prepared for our outdoor escapades. They surprised us with these magical inventions called cooling vests. Let us tell you, dear readers, these things are a game-changer! With their cooling technology, they kept us comfortable even in the warmest of temperatures. Paired with the gentle breeze from a fan and the luxury of air conditioning, we’ve found the ultimate trio for beating the summer heat.
But amidst all the adventures and discoveries, the one thing that stands out above all else is the unconditional love our humans shower upon us. They always make sure we are safe, happy, and well taken care of. From belly rubs to delicious treats and walks, they never fail to make us feel like the luckiest dogs in the world.
So here’s to the joy of spending time with those who love us unconditionally. Here’s to the excitement of new experiences and the thrill of discovering new places. And here’s to the perfect combination of cooling vests, fans, and air conditioning that keeps our doggy lives comfortable during hot summer days.
With our hearts filled with love, we sign off for now. But fear not, dear Vilhelmians, we will continue to explore, love, and share our adventures with you. Until next time!
Giggly yours,
Boujee and Dapper ❤️
