Life Update: It’s Official – I’m a Godfather!
Mike and Chanel welcomed a 6lb baby girl into the world this week, and I am officially a godfather! Mike was a mess during the birth, but I kept him together with some jokes. He gave me and Kat a play-by-play of what was happening during the birth of my goddaughter, Micaela. I would have preferred the name Damielllea, but godparents have no naming rights. In any case, I think Mike and Chanel did a great job choosing the name.
The good news is that Mom, Baby, Grandma, and Dad are all doing great. I’m excited about all the adventures we’ll have as a family with this sweet little addition. Congratulations to Mike and Chanel for becoming parents, and may their journey be full of wonderful memories. Welcome to the family, Micaela!
To be honest, I’m not sure what to do as a godfather at this stage of her life. I’ve been reading up online to gain knowledge. I’ll do my best, and I hope she likes GI Joes and Elmos because that’s all I know. I can’t wait till they get our first shipment of goodies.
If Our House Could Talk: House Priority List – Patio Staining
When it comes to home improvement projects, sometimes the unexpected can lead to exciting adventures. Our journey into patio staining was not initially on our house priority list, but as fate would have it, we stumbled upon a couple of wooden boards that desperately needed changing. Little did we know that this seemingly simple project would take us on a rollercoaster of challenges and discoveries. So, grab a cup of coffee and join us as we dive into our patio staining adventures!
As we inspected our patio, we noticed a few cracks in some of the wooden posts. Eager to tackle this issue, we turned to the trusty YouTube tutorials for guidance. Armed with newfound knowledge and enthusiasm, we made a beeline to our local Home Depot, ready to pick up the necessary supplies to get started. We had our eyes set on new wooden boards and construction glue, determined to bring our patio back to its former glory.
However, the universe had other plans in store for us. As we loaded the 10ft long boards into our car trunk, we soon realized that our vehicle was not equipped to handle such lengthy cargo. After a bit of maneuvering and a fair share of “oops” moments, we managed to secure the boards, albeit not without a small accident. Luckily, our rear mirror emerged unscathed from the ordeal, much to our relief (and amusement!).
What initially appeared as a simple fix turned into a more significant undertaking. As we began replacing the wooden boards, we realized that the project was more extensive than we had anticipated. The scope expanded, and our initial excitement gave way to a newfound sense of determination. Our patio staining adventure had evolved into something larger than we had bargained for, but we were determined to see it through.
Adding another layer of complexity to our project, we embarked on a quest for the perfect stain. Spending over an hour at Sherwin Williams, we examined countless samples, comparing colors and finishes. We knew that finding the right stain was crucial to achieving the desired aesthetic for our patio. With a selection in hand, we returned home, eager to take the next steps.
As we wrap up this blog post, we want to assure you that our journey into patio staining is far from over. With the wooden boards replaced, we have only scratched the surface of this project. We will continue to update our fellow Villlhemers weekly as we tackle the challenges that lie ahead. The road may be bumpy, but we’re confident that the end result will be well worth the effort.

Friendship: Moe and Mauricio
It’s that time again when we take a moment to celebrate the milestones of our dearest friends. Recently, two of our favorite people, Moe and Mauricio, celebrated their birthdays!
Moe, who shall remain ageless, was surprised with an intimate gathering with his closest friends and family. We had cake, enjoyed Moe’s amazing backyard, and may have had a debate on some current-day events. Let me tell you, Moe is quite the debater. I’m pretty sure he could argue his way out of a paper bag. But all jokes aside, we’re so proud of the person and role model he’s become. Moe, you truly are one of the most inspirational people we know, and we’re lucky to call you a friend.
And let’s not forget about Mauricio! He celebrated his birthday with a good old-fashioned BBQ. Mauricio is one-of-a-kind, with a heart so kind you can’t help but feel warm and fuzzy inside just being around him. He’s like a cozy blanket on a chilly night. It’s harder to make new friends as we get older, but Mauricio has definitely cut it. We started as party buddies, but our friendship has grown into something more meaningful. We’ve traveled together, laughed, and had fun along the way.
As the saying goes, “Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.” So let’s cherish our friendships and keep building those bonds, one BBQ and debate at a time.

Boujee and Dapper here! Reporting on what has been an absolutely fabulous week for us. We’ve been living our best lives, enjoying the cool comforts of the air conditioning in our lovely home. Ah, the perks of being pampered pooches!
But let us tell you about the most exciting part of our week—the discovery of a brand new park! Yes, you heard that right, folks! A park that’s just a mere 5 minutes away from our cozy abode. It’s like a doggy paradise, and we can’t contain our excitement.
As soon as our humans caught wind of this splendid park, they leashed us up and off we went on an adventure. The moment we stepped foot into the park, we were greeted by a refreshing breeze that rustled through the trees. Ah, shade! A dog’s best friend on a scorching summer day.
This park, let us tell you, is a slice of heaven. It overlooks the sparkling water, and the view is simply breathtaking. We can’t resist running up to the edge and gazing at the ripples of the waves. It’s like a magical oasis where we can escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
And the trees! Oh, the trees! They provide the most delightful canopy, showering us with a cool, dappled sunlight. The lush green grass beneath our paws makes us feel like royalty, ruling over our newfound kingdom.
But the surprises didn’t end there, folks. This morning, while exploring a particularly bushy area of the park, we stumbled upon a mysterious creature. It looked similar to a hedgehog, but with some unique features. Its quills were longer and more vibrant, almost like it had a funky hairstyle.
Our humans were just as fascinated as we were, snapping photos and doing their best to identify the creature. It was such a memorable encounter, reminding us that there are always new wonders to discover.
