Villlhelllm: How do You even Spell It?

Life Update: If my house could talk 🏡🗣️🤬

If our house could talk, it would say “please stop touching me”. As a home automation enthusiast, I am constantly trying to find ways of making life “easier” through the use of technology. That does, me opening up walls and probing the innermost workings of a house.

But despite my good intentions, I can sense that our house is growing weary of all the constant modifications. Its walls and floors have been poked and prodded so many times that they must be feeling violated.

If the house could talk, it would ask me to take a step back and appreciate its natural beauty. It would remind me that it was designed and built with care, and that it doesn’t need constant modification to function perfectly.

One day, I promise to listen to my house’s plea and stop touching it, I promise but till that day, here’s an update on my first project outside of unpacking.

This week, I upgraded the outdated doorbell system to a modern NEST Video solution, and it was quite a challenge. I wanted to run the wire to the perfect location for the new Google Nest doorbell, but it required drilling holes and running wires through walls, which was more complicated than I anticipated. It took more time than I expected, and I was worried about damaging the walls. Normally, this would be a simple job, but spray foam installation proved to need more tools and know-how than I had. In the end, I was able to successfully install the new doorbell. Automation project number one is in the books.

I can’t wait for the day that I can appreciate it for what it is, a beautiful and functional home that provides shelter and comfort for me and my new family.

A Jamaican at -6, what a surprise! 🥶

For Damian’s birthday, I wanted to get us out of the house, with the move and work we have not been able to go on any dates nor do many activities lately. Despite his busy schedule with work and moving, I knew I had to make it happen! I had planned a surprise for him, and I was very excited to see his reaction.

I had sent him a calendar invite and asked him to meet me at the shed, and he had no idea about what was coming. He was curious and seemed not very happy about it at first. Finally, I drove him to the Thermëa spa in Whitby, and his reaction was priceless!

The moment we stepped into the spa, we were transported to a different world altogether. We tried all types of outdoor baths, steam rooms, and saunas. It was a surreal experience, and we both enjoyed it to the fullest.

We went for a massage and then had dinner. The night ambiance was very special. We were both in a state of relaxation, and the atmosphere was so calming and soothing.

But the best was yet to come. We went for a sauna ceremony that included ice snow balls and towel waving techniques. It was a unique experience, and we both loved it. In the end, we took a cold bath, which was quite refreshing. We were a bit hesitant at first, but we ended up alternating between hot and cold baths, and it was a great experience, knowing that it was – 6C outside!

After spending an amazing day at the spa, we headed back home to Boujee and Dapper. They were thrilled to see us and welcomed us with their giggly butts.

Overall, it was a great day, and I was glad that I could make Damian’s birthday special. The surprise gift was a success, and we both had an unforgettable experience at Thermëa. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and relaxation, and we both felt rejuvenated and refreshed.

Frenchie Update 🐾

Woof woof, it’s Boujee and Dapper! We wanted to give you a sneak peek into our day-to-day life at home and the progress we’ve made since we moved in.

As you may know, at first, we were a little apprehensive about the change, but as time goes by, we’re starting to get used to the place. The boxes are slowly disappearing, and the house is starting to look more like a home.

Dapper, being the adventurous one, has already mastered the stairs up and down. He’s always eager to explore new areas of the house and spends most of his time following Kat, around. He even loves to hang out in Kat’s office, listening in on her Zoom meetings.

Boujee, on the other hand, is still making progress on the stairs. She’s a little more hesitant than me (Dapper), but she’s starting to get the hang of it. We have to take things slow with her and make sure she doesn’t hurt herself, especially her knees.

One fun story we wanted to share is that our parents fight over who gets to have us in their office for the day. We’re not complaining, though. We love spending time with both of them, and we think it’s hilarious that they compete for our presence.

All in all, we’re happy to be part of such a loving family ❤️

Birthdays 🎈🎈🎈

We wanted to take a quick moment to give a special shoutout to some awesome people who just celebrated their birthdays this past February. Happy birthday to Simone, Joy, Angela, and Damian! Wishing you guys all the best for the year ahead.

If you had a birthday in February and you didn’t get a shoutout from us, don’t worry – it just means we don’t have your birthday on file. If you want to get in on the action and have us celebrate you in the future, just send us your birthdate, and we’ll make sure to give you a big shoutout when your special day rolls around.
