Villlhelllm: How do You even Spell It?

Tiny Tales from Alyce’s Weekly Wonders

Boom! I’m seven months old! Another month on the counter, and I’m growing with so much enthusiasm and excitement. Every day brings something new and wonderful. I love trying new foods, tastes, and textures. My mom is the best at finding the most delicious puree recipes for me. We share meals together, and it’s such a fun experience. Real food is amazing!

Let me tell you about my best buddies, Boujee and Dapper. They are my furry friends and part of our family pack. I love, love, love them! Boujee is always so caring, starting her night next to my crib to make sure I’m asleep before heading back to the living room. And Dapper is always ready for some fun and cuddles. I can’t wait for the day I start crawling or even walking. Oh la la! Imagine the fun we’ll have together, exploring every corner of our home and the great outdoors.

Saturdays are the absolute best because that’s when I go on trips with my amazing parents. Every Saturday is an adventure! Whether it’s a stroll in the park, a visit to a new place, or just a fun drive, it’s always a day full of surprises and joy. I’m always cozy and happy during our trips. My parents make sure I’m comfortable, and I get to see so many new things.

One of my favorite things is my super cool camping chair. When we go to the beach, I love sitting in it and feeling the breeze. And guess what? I also have a baby float! Floating peacefully on the water is like a dream come true. I feel so relaxed and happy, enjoying the gentle movement of the water. It’s such a wonderful feeling.

Every day is filled with love, laughter, and lots of fun. I can’t wait to see what new adventures await me as I grow. Life is a beautiful journey, and I’m so excited to explore it with my family and my furry friends by my side.

With lots of love and giggles,

Alyce 💕

Saturday Family Adventures: Discovering Port Dalhousie, pronounced “duh-LOO-zee”

Hello, fellow adventurers and parents! In the midst of our hectic lives, we’ve made a commitment to carve out time for family adventures every Saturday. Our mission? To explore the beautiful province of Ontario and create lasting memories together. A couple of weeks ago, we shared our spontaneous trip to Port Dover with Boujee and Dapper. This time, our adventures led us to the charming town of Port Dalhousie.

Port Dalhousie, pronounced “duh-LOO-zee,” is a historic community in St. Catharines, Ontario, with roots deeply entwined with the Welland Canal’s development. Named after the 9th Earl of Dalhousie, it served as the canal’s northern terminus from 1829 to 1932. The town grew alongside the evolving canal, attracting diverse workers and businesses. By the late 1800s, Port Dalhousie transformed into a popular recreational destination, featuring attractions like Lakeside Park. Today, it’s known for its waterfront charm, historic significance, and as home to the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, offering visitors a delightful blend of past and present. The town’s beautiful marina boasts water as blue as on TV, making it an idyllic spot for a family day out.

One of the best tips I’ve picked up from parenting Facebook groups. Port Dalhousie beach came highly recommended, and it’s only a 40-minute drive from us when traffic cooperates. With its clean, family-friendly beach, picnic tables, a small café, and convenient restrooms, it promised to be a great spot for a day of fun. Parking was a breeze too, with options for parking.

Given the scorching summer heat, we decided it was best to leave Boujee and Dapper at home, relaxing in the air conditioning. French bulldogs don’t do well in the heat, so their comfort was a priority.

This outing was extra special because Alyce experienced her first swim! Seeing her joy and delight at the beach was heartwarming. She’s truly in her element by the water, a happy and smiling baby enjoying every moment. Watching her little face light up as she splashed around was a memory we’ll cherish forever. And oh, the giggles! Her laughter was contagious, drawing smiles from everyone around us.

Damian, who loves his swims, found a new passion during this trip – Alyce’s baby float! Picture Damian, the tall one, trying to fit into a baby float and you’ll understand why I couldn’t stop laughing. It was a joy to see him bonding with Alyce in the water, both of them floating and having the time of their lives. These simple, joyful moments are what make our Saturday adventures so precious.
