Villlhelllm: How do You even Spell It?
Tiny Tales from Alyce’s Weekly Wonders: Tropical Dreams
Hi everyone! It’s me, Alyce, here to tell you all about my exciting week! Well, maybe not super exciting like last week with all those doctor visits, but still pretty fun.
First off, let me tell you about my new friend, Nurse Anne. She’s so nice and comes to see me a few times a week. We have a blast playing together. It’s always a good time when she’s around.
Oh, and speaking of fun, let me tell you about Dapper… He’s always trying to lick my toes! Silly doggy, I love him, but toes are not for licking, Dapper!
The highlight of my week was definitely Thursday. Mom and Dad took me on a car ride, but this time it wasn’t for a doctor’s appointment! Nope, we went to this amazing greenhouse filled with tropical plants! Can you imagine? So many green leaves and colorful flowers everywhere!
Sure, it was a bit chilly outside, but inside that greenhouse, it was like a tropical paradise. Plants hanging from the ceiling, vines trailing along the walls—it was magical. I think I could spend hours just staring at all the pretty plants.
Of course, all that excitement wore me out, and I ended up falling asleep in my cozy car seat on the way back home. But hey, that’s the sign of a good adventure, right?
Can’t wait to see what next week brings—hopefully more fun and fewer doctor visits! Until then, stay curious and keep smiling!
Love,
Alyce 💕

Postpartum bounce back!
As a 37-year-old who recently welcomed a tiny human into the world, I have to say, the postpartum journey has been interesting. Picture this: it’s December, I’ve just undergone the magical feat of childbirth (hello, C-section scar), and I’m eagerly anticipating a thorough health check before being released from the hospital…
But alas, my hopes of a comprehensive assessment were dashed faster than you can say “epidural.” Instead of the European-style thoroughness I’d heard about from friends and family across the pond, I was given a quick once-over, handed some painkillers, and sent on my merry way. Cue the “Wait, that’s it?” moment.
In the months since then, I’ve recognized the importance of proactive postpartum care: mental, physical and psychological. Despite the lack of a formal assessment at the hospital, I took it upon myself to seek out resources and guidance for my recovery journey. And the one who stood out the most is Magdalena, a pelvic health physiotherapist specialized in pelvic floor recovery. She took me on a journey, evaluating my body’s condition.
Magdalena’s expertise extends beyond mere physical examination; she delved into aspects such as posture, rib positioning, and tailored exercises to accommodate my postpartum needs. The process is being illuminating, albeit challenging. Adjusting to a new normal while balancing the demands of caring for a sick newborn and my little family is testing my resilience, while trying to sculpt a masterpiece out of an aching piece of gum (that is how I describe my current body) —challenging, but oh-so-rewarding!
While the physical discomfort and sleep deprivation are tangible obstacles, my determination to reclaim my strength and vitality remains unwavering. I’ve committed to reintegrating yoga, Peloton workouts, and a nourishing diet into my routine, recognizing the significance of prioritizing my well-being for the sake of Alyce and my little family.
This journey has underscored the profound transformation that occurs during the postpartum period. It’s not just about physical recovery but also about embracing the emotional and psychological adjustments that accompany new motherhood. Through perseverance and self-care, I am navigating this period with grace and resilience, knowing that each step forward brings me closer to a renewed sense of vitality and purpose.

Woof Woof! 🐾
Salut les amis! It is I, Boujee, accompanied by my faithful companion Dapper, here to regale you with the latest escapades from our world. Ah, life as French bulldogs is an endless whirlwind of excitement and… well, naps. But fear not, dear reader, for we always manage to find ourselves amidst a flurry of fun and frolics!
Now, let me fill you in on the latest developments in our cozy abode. Our humans, bless their souls, have been taking care of little Alyce and, she’s quite an intriguing creature. Since Alyce’s arrival, our home has been buzzing with activity. There are new scents to sniff, curious sounds to investigate, and oh, the toys! Alyce seems to have an impressive collection of colorful contraptions, each more tantalizing than the last.
But alas, dear friends, our joy is short-lived, for our humans have decreed that these treasures are off-limits to us. Can you believe it? They dare to dangle these delightful diversions right before our noses, only to snatch them away with a stern “Not for you, les petits!” Ah, the injustice of it all!
However, fear not, for where there’s a will, there’s a way! Our ever-vigilant guardian, Kat, has taken pity upon us and graciously procured a selection of new toys, just for our enjoyment. These rubbery wonders squeak with delight at our every playful pounce, bringing a spark of joy to our canine hearts.
But enough about toys, let’s talk weather! Ah, the great outdoors, where we Frenchies truly shine. We were promised long, leisurely walks with Alyce, beneath the sun-kissed sky, but alas, Mother Nature has other plans. Instead of balmy breezes and blue skies, we find ourselves thrust back into the depths of winter, with chilly temperatures and yes, you guessed it, snow! Mon dieu, it’s like Christmas all over again! Needless to say, Boujee is less than impressed. Snow? In spring? Sacré bleu!
And then there’s Dapper, ever the charmer. He’s taken quite a liking to young Alyce, our tiny human charge. He longs to snuggle up with her, to share in the warmth of her presence. Alas, our humans remain cautious, fearing perhaps that Dapper’s exuberance may overwhelm our petite protégée. But fear not, dear Dapper, your time will come.
Despite the trials and tribulations, we find ourselves content in the comfort of our home, surrounded by those we hold dear. And soon, oh so soon, we shall venture forth into the great unknown, Alyce in tow, for a grand adventure beyond the confines of these four walls. Until then, dear reader, au revoir and bisous!
