Tiny Tales from Alyce’s Weekly Wonders: My busy schedule & I finally met my Grandma!

Hi everyone, it’s Alyce here! This week has been a whirlwind of excitement for me! On Monday, I had a big day visiting the Complex Care Team at the hospital. The doctor checked me out, and the dietitian measured me. Guess what? I’m now a whopping 5.43 kg (11.96 lbs) and 59.1 cm (23.3 in) long! I’m growing so fast, it’s hard to keep up!

Then, on Tuesday, it was my dad’s birthday! We had so much fun celebrating. Mom got him special donuts from Grand Dad’s, and there were balloons! One of them even burst, making the loudest noise ever! Dad got lots of presents, but I know deep down that I’m the best gift of all! Believe it or not, on that same day, I’ve also welcomed a new cousin: Beckham Crew! And my uncle V became a dad for the first time, oh la la!

But the real highlight of the week was on Saturday when I got to meet my grandma for the very first time! She’s the sweetest and, I gave her lots of smiles and coos, and she held me out of my crib, which was the most amazing feeling ever! I can’t wait for her to come back and visit me again soon.

Now that the weather seems to be getting nicer, I’m excited for more outdoor adventures with Mom and Dad. Who knows what fun we’ll get up to next?

Another Year Around the Sun: Might Need Two Cakes for All These Candles!

As I look back on the year that has passed, it’s incredible to think about how much has changed since we made the big move to Hamilton, Ontario. Moving to a new town with Katerina and our mighty dogs, leaving old friends behind, and embarking on this new journey was a leap into the unknown. Yet, here we are, more connected, more grounded, and more in love with life than ever before.

This year has been a whirlwind of growth, both personally and professionally. Katerina and I have welcomed a beautiful little girl into our lives, Alyce, who has shown us the true meaning of strength. Despite the health challenges she faces, Alyce has brought an immeasurable amount of joy and purpose into our lives. As a father, every day is a lesson in love, patience, and resilience. Boujee and Dapper continue to add their unique brand of chaos and companionship to our growing family, teaching me daily about responsibility and unconditional love.

One of the most heartwarming chapters of this year has been getting my sister back! Rekindling our bond has added another layer of joy and support to my life, reminding me of the unbreakable ties of family. Amidst these beautiful moments, there’s a part of me that wishes my brother Jimmy was still with us. I often think about how much he would have loved Alyce and what a wonderful uncle he would have been. His memory lives on in our hearts, and in some way, he is always with us, sharing in our journey.

A new endeavor that has brought a fresh spark of excitement into our lives is the launch of our weekly newsletter, Villlhelllm. It’s a little project that has become a big part of our weekly routine, allowing us to share our thoughts, experiences, and the joy of our journey with friends, family, and subscribers. It’s become a testament to our growth and a way to connect with others on a deeper level.

Hamilton has been a sanctuary for us, with its tranquil walks by the water providing moments of peace and reflection. These moments have taught me the importance of gratitude – for the blessings we have, the peace we enjoy, and the memories we’re creating together.

On this day of reflection, I want to extend my deepest thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes. It’s a reminder of the bonds that remain strong, no matter the distance. To my friends and family, near and far, I hope you’re safe, healthy, and thriving. And if you’re ever feeling down or just need someone to talk to, remember, I’m only a text, message, or email away. Oh, la la, les amis! It is I, Boujee, and my dashing companion Dapper, here to regale you with the latest escapades from our charming lives. Mais oui, life as French bulldogs in a household with a tiny human is quite the adventure!

First and foremost, let us talk about Dapper. Ah, mon ami Dapper, ever the gallant gentleman, has taken it upon himself to be the self-appointed guardian of our little human, Alyce. He has been inching closer and closer to her, and mon dieu, he has even mastered the art of climbing onto the sofa just to be nearer to her! Ah, the lengths we go for love. And speaking of love, Dapper expresses his adoration for Alyce by showering her with affectionate licks. But alas, it seems our petite Alyce is not quite enamored with Dapper’s slobbery displays of affection. Mais non, she prefers to admire him from a safe distance for now, thank you very much.

As for me, well, I am simply being my fabulous self, as always. Ah, the joy of being Boujee! I must admit, I had quite the delightful time with dad’s birthday balloons earlier this week. Oh, the colors, the shimmer, the sheer magnificence of it all! And then, mes amis, the pièce de résistance: seeing grandma this Saturday! It has been far too long since our last rendezvous, and seeing her again was truly a highlight. Ah, the warmth of her embrace, the familiar scent of home—c’est magnifique!

Now, as much as we adore indoor shenanigans, Dapper and I cannot wait for the weather to stabilize a bit so we can indulge in more outdoor adventures with Alyce. Oh, the thought of frolicking in the sunshine, exploring new scents, and perhaps even chasing a squirrel or two—ça promet!
