Villlhelllm: How do You even Spell It?

If our house could talk: Those Europeans!

Greetings Villlhelllmians!

We’ve got some exciting news to share with you all. Kat’s family visit continued last week and the adventure was stepped up a notch when her older brother and his girlfriend from the US also visited us in Hamilton, so we had a full house! It was amazing to catch up with family and spend quality time together. As the saying goes, “Family is not an important thing. It’s everything.” And we couldn’t agree more.

During their visit, we shared so many stories and had fun cooking, eating, and enjoying each other’s company. What impressed us the most was how willing they were to help out around the house, even though they were on vacation. They did small things like unpacking the dishwasher and cleaning up, and were always asking how they could help. Even Kat’s younger sister was setting the table for dinner! As Damian puts it, “We were truly blessed to have such a wonderful family who not only supports us but also pitches in with the chores.”

Kat’s stepmother is definitely the drill sergeant of the family, always on the move and providing us with so many things for our upcoming bundle of joy. We are truly thankful for all the baby items. We are not sure about all the thermal layers for keeping the baby outside in sub-zero temperatures for napping, but if it keeps them quiet, then bundle up baby.

Speaking of the baby, Kat’s little sister came up with a new name for Damian – “Baby Ketchup!” He thinks it’s the best name and an upgrade from last year’s nickname, “Hello Baby!”

We also learned a new way of saying hello, come here, and goodbye – “papoy”! Additionally, we had some interesting discussions about “white people food”, which refers to anything that’s not Jamaican or lacks heat or intense flavor. The one thing Europeans didn’t like about Ontario/Quebec was the slow driving speeds. In Europe, they usually drive at 200km/h, so our roads felt like parking lots in comparison.

While Kat’s family was in town, we decided to throw a last-minute gender reveal party since Kat was at 20 weeks. When we say last minute, we mean we started planning the party on Wednesday for Sunday. We invited some of our close friends and family to the event and we had a great turnout. We reunited with our party crew, Damian’s sister, and so many other faces from the past. We had great food, music, and we even did a walk by Pier 8 to walk off the Jamian food “itis”. It’s always fun to learn about different cultures and their quirks. It makes life so much more interesting.

Kat and Damian didn’t know the gender of their baby, so they gave the envelope with the details to their brothers to surprise everyone, including the guests. And now the news is out – they are having a baby girl! We can’t wait to meet her and watch her grow up surrounded by the love of our family. To be honest, we always felt that gender reveal parties were a little over the top, but it’s nice to share the news with our close loved ones.

Overall, it was an amazing visit and we are grateful for the time we spent with family and friends. Remember to cherish your loved ones, whether related by blood or not, and make time for them. At the end of the day, family is truly what matters.

Dapper and the skunk!

Woof, woof! It’s Boujee here! I’m back with an exciting and rather smelly story about my mischievous brother, Dapper. He’s quite the character, and his love for adventures knows no bounds – even if it means getting up close and personal with skunks!

You see, Dapper has always been the curious one in our little duo. While I prefer lounging in the sun, he’s the first to jump at any chance for exploration and excitement. But his latest escapade took everyone by surprise and left us all in stitches.

It all happened after the exhilarating gender reveal party. Everyone was gathered around the cozy fire pit. Now, this is where Dapper’s love for skunks comes into play. You see, he has a peculiar fascination with them. Whenever he spots one in the yard or during our walks, he’d freeze and watch with intense curiosity, as if he’s found a fellow adventurer.

So, after the party, while everyone was lost in conversation, Dapper seized his chance for a daring mission. Without a second thought, he took off like a lightning bolt, vanishing into the dark night for what seemed like an eternity… okay, maybe just three minutes. But when you’re waiting and wondering what mischief your brother is up to, three minutes can feel like forever!

Just as we were about to send out a search party for the little scoundrel, Dapper came bounding back with a distinct aroma wafting around him – the unmistakable smell of skunk spray!

Oh, Dapper! As you can imagine, the clean-up process was quite the ordeal. It took multiple baths and some special skunk-odor-removal remedies to get rid of that pungent scent.

Following three rules of our skunk survival guide (#1 – do not panic!, #2 send everyone inside, #3 prepare your skunk removal solution with mixing hydrogen peroxide, dishwashing liquid and baking soda) the humans managed to keep their composure and quickly got everyone inside the house. A thorough inspection revealed that the skunk spray had thankfully not reached his eyes, but the stench was undeniable. Dapper needed couple baths with the garden hose and little did they know that this would turn into a late-night adventure of its own!

Until a whopping 3 am, Dapper was subjected to a seemingly endless shower with the special skunk solution.

Finally, the humans deemed the skunk smell somewhat subdued, and Dapper was moved indoors. But oh, joy! He had unknowingly brought some of the skunk smell with him, and it was now lingering in the house. The humans did their best to minimize the impact, but let’s just say our home has had a distinct “eau de skunk” for a couple of days!

So, dear Vilhelmians, there you have it – the Dapper skunk adventure and a reminder of the importance of being prepared for anything when you have a curious and mischievous companion!

With love and a bit of a nose-pinching,

Boujee (and the stinky Dapper, below!)

Woof Woof! 🐾

Bonjour les Vilhelmians! It’s us, Boujee and Dapper, back with another exciting tale from our eventful lives. Our days have been filled with love, laughter, and plenty of adventures, especially when Kat’s family came to visit us. We couldn’t be happier to have four new friends at our home!

Kat’s family visit was an absolute delight. They appreciated our presence and showered us with affection from the moment they arrived. Each morning felt like a grand celebration as we eagerly awaited their footsteps, ready to run downstairs and greet our wonderful guests. They quickly became part of our pack, and we showed them all our favorite spots around the house.

Kat’s dad especially won our hearts. We could sense his genuine love for dogs, and we reciprocated with our endless loyalty and affection.

Speaking of belly rubs, there’s one human in particular who became our official belly rub specialist – Charlie! We quickly learned that whenever Charlie was around, it was belly rub time! We’d stretch ourselves out, presenting our bellies with sheer delight as he showered us with affection. It was pure bliss.

Now, let’s talk about Tete. We noticed that sometimes she’d act a bit scared around us. But fret not, dear Vilhelmians, because we could see beyond the surface. We knew deep down that Tete loved us too! We gave her space and made sure she knew we were here as loving companions. As days passed, we witnessed her shyness melting away, and she started joining in on the fun. Our puppy charm can win over anyone, after all!

And can you believe it? Time has flown by so quickly; it’s already the end of July! The days seem to merge into one another when you’re surrounded by love and happiness.

That’s all for now, but we promise to be back soon with more tales of our adventures. Until then, au revoir and remember to cherish the little things in life and every moment with your loved ones, just like we do!

With love and wet nose boops,

Boujee and Dapper ❤️
