Villlhelllm: How do You even Spell It?
Life Update: I’m fine. Everything is fine!
Some of you may know Damian’s workplace recently announced another set of layoffs. While his team has not been impacted, the changes have affected others within the company. Losing a job can be a difficult and stressful experience, and we are thinking of those who are affected by these changes.
To those who have reached out to check in on us, thank you! It’s been a crazy ride for the last couple of months with our life changes and the news about Damian’s work lurking in the background.
During these uncertain times, it’s important to remember that there are things we can control and things we can’t. Although we can’t control our employers’ decisions, we can control our reactions to them. It’s important just to keep swimming and plan a path forward for you and your family.

Our first international visitors!
Our first international visitors!
We had some exciting news this past week – our first international visitors! My sister and brother-in-law, Santino and Jackie, visited us all the way from New York State.
Santino is semi-retired from nursing, which means he’s finally seeing more time at home. We hope this also means we get to see him up here in Canada more often. Plus, his visit meant that our dog, Dapper, finally had a new friend to play with. The morning after Santino left, Dapper ran downstairs and was so sad that there was no “good puppy” greeting. We think they might need to start a long-distance friendship.

During their visit, we did all sorts of fun things – we cooked, replanted orchids (which is surprisingly therapeutic), and relaxed. We even got some gardening tips from Santino, like planting PAW PAW trees. (If you have never heard of PAW PAW Fruit before, they are native to North America and their fruit is delicious!). We chatted and caught up on all the family news – it was like we hadn’t been apart for years.

We had hoped to go on a hike with them and the dogs, but the weather wasn’t cooperating. (Typical Canadian weather, am I right?). We think we’ll have to plan a summer visit next time so we can fully enjoy the great outdoors.
All in all, we’re grateful for their visit and can’t wait to see them again soon. Who knows, maybe Dapper will even get a chance to visit his new Dad in New York someday.

If our house could talk?
If your house could talk, what do you think it would say? Well, we think our house would have some complaints about its owners. They keep having dinner parties and entertaining guests while ignoring the list of repairs from the home inspection report. Come on, let’s get those repairs done!
And let’s not even get the house started on the cleaners (that’s us). We wake up on weekends and try to clean one room at a time – hello, the house needs to be cleaned more thoroughly than that!
But the real challenge seems to be Mr. DIY Damian. He’s got so many projects started – Security Camera’s, Fire Table natural gas conversion, Irrigation system hookup, mulching, seeding the grass, cleaning up the garage, and finding a home for his tools. He keeps talking about automating the house, but the house is skeptical. It thinks it’s too big of a challenge for him. But hey, the house admires his determination and is willing to give him a chance.
So there you have it, folks – a glimpse into the life of a talkative house. Until next time, keep your houses happy and clean!

Frenchie Update 🐾
Woof, woof! Boujee and Dapper here! We have a cool story to tell you about our recent adventures!
Our humans had some special visitors, Jackie and Santino, who came all the way from the US just to hang out with us. We were so excited to see them and couldn’t wait to show them around our home.
Boujee wasn’t too happy about the rainy weather though – she prefers sunny days so she can go on hikes and enjoy the outdoors. But even though we were stuck inside, we had a blast playing with our family and exploring the house.
Dapper was especially excited to see Santino, who he thinks of as his second dad. He followed him around everywhere and was completely mesmerized by him. We could tell that Dapper was in heaven with his second dad around.
We always watch what we eat, so we were thrilled when our humans put us back on our raw food diet. It’s so delicious and gives us tons of energy – just check out our shiny coats!
All in all, we had an amazing time with Jackie and Santino, and we can’t wait to see them again. They made our week, and we loved every moment of our time together. We’ll never forget our international visitors and the unforgettable memories we shared.
